Basa
Basa fish, also known as lentil fish, is a freshwater fish species of the Pangasiidae family, popular in the Mekong River region, especially Vietnam. They have a flat shape, bright colors and often reach large sizes, up to 1.5 meters.
Basa fish are commonly raised in fish farms due to their fast growth rate and good adaptability. Basa fish meat is sweet, soft, has few bones, and is often used in many dishes such as soup, fried, or steamed.
In addition to culinary value, Basa fish also has high economic value, being one of the key export products of Vietnam’s seafood industry. However, Basa fish farming also needs to be managed sustainably to protect the environment and maintain natural resources.
